Elk Valley RCMP are investigating property damage to a daycare building in Elkford believed to have been caused by a vehicle.
On July 7, police were called to Curious Cubs Daycare in the 2200 block of Balmer Drive after staff discovered damage to the building.
Investigators observed two small indentations on the outside wall, aligning with marks from a vehicle’s licence plate or trailer.
While exterior damage appeared minor, police say there was significant structural damage inside, including a broken wall stud visible through cracked drywall.
RCMP believe the collision occurred between the evening of June 27 and the morning of June 29.
There is no surveillance footage in the area, and the person responsible has not yet come forward.
“It is highly unlikely the driver did not notice the incident,” said, Elk Valley RCMP.
“What may have seemed like minimal damage at the time has in fact compromised the structure of the building.”
