Sparwood’s Coal Miner Days Society is seeking sponsors for their annual festival.
Coal Miner Days returns in June to bring a fun, inexpensive weekend to the area, while also raising funds and awareness for local organizations and projects.
Coal Miners Days Society president Marcia Johnson says they want this year’s festival to be the best one yet.
“There’s an escape room happening, we have the street market coming back, we have the full parade, tons of things for basically every age,” Johnson says. “If people go to our website at coalminerdays.com they can see the schedule of events. And also if they follow us on FaceBook they can be kept up to date as we add new events, because that is happening almost every day.”
Johnson says they are seeking funding to keep the festival going.
“In order to be able to facilitate all the things that we want to do and to be able to make our kids fest as big as possible, it’s important that we do have sponsors,” she says. “We rely mostly on sponsors including the District of Sparwood, we appreciate their support as well. Sponsors are honestly our most important thing especially going up to Coal Miner Days.”
She says sponsors that support the event will have their business advertised and they can have a float in the parade.
Coal Miner Days is happening June 5-11.
